You're as Jung as you feel.

I was chatting with a close friend, and we got on the topic of psychology (which I took eons ago in college).  She suggested I look into personality tests and maybe take one - one of those Myers-Briggs, or Briggs & Stratton, or Dorothy-Stratton, or something like that.  Anyway, I Googled one up, and answered the questions.

Well, it turns out I'm an ENTJ.  Wasn't sure what that is, but apparently only 1.8% of the population is one.

Luckily, there is a key.  Seems that an ENTJ (Extraversion, iNtuition, Thinking, Judging) is often referred to as a "Field Marshall" type.  "Executive" is also used, but "Field Marshall" just sounds cooler, what with the fancy uniform and all, so I'll go with that.

Once you know your personality type, you can usually browse a list of recommended occupations that go along with such a personality type.  Among mine were military officer, police officer and lawyer, all three of which I've done.  So I guess I can stop changing careers, at least until my personality changes to ISFP, in which case I guess I'll need to don a beret and become a painter or sculptor.

I didn't see "spanker" or "disciplinarian" on the occupation list, but I suppose it would go along with Field Marshall or even First Assistant Field Marshall, so I guess I'll keep up the spanking.  Hell, even if I changed to ISFP, I could consider spanking an art form, taking an unspanked bottom as a "blank canvas" of sorts and turning it all kinds of lovely hues, bringing tears to the eyes of those experiencing my handiwork.

So, for those of you who are dying to find out your personality type, here is one site you can try:  http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp

With that, I ask, what is your personality type, and does it fit your occupation (or your role as spanker, spankee, or switch)?

I remember learning about this in AP Psychology!

I got ISFJ... (Introverted, Sensing, Feeling, Judging) or what the test called "Protector Guardian."

"ISFJs are characterized above all by their desire to serve others, their "need to be needed." In extreme cases, this need is so strong that standard give-and-take relationships are deeply unsatisfying to them; however, most ISFJs find more than enough with which to occupy themselves within the framework of a normal life."

Now, as far as spanking goes, I'm most definitely a Switch.

As far as my personality type and my role as a switch, I think it makes sense. I've been told for the longest time that I have a very maternal glow about me. Maybe it's because I grew up in a Russian family and I like to feed people, I dunno XD. I thrive off of helping people. The Spanker side of me is very maternal. To me, when it comes to discipline spankings, it's all about helping the spankee better themselves. It's all about care for the spankee. As far as the Spankee side of me, personally, it's a small chance to get away from the responsibility of caring for others so much, to have someone care about me for a change. A chance for me to better myself.

Yeah, I think it fits.

Wow - how incredibly accurate

Hi,

I found this blog when searching for others who are in a similar "working relationship" to the one I have set up. I set up this relationship because I came to the conclusion that I needed outside help to meet certain life goals. It is a spanking relationship where I decide the ultimate goals, we decide the rules that are necessary to meet the goals together and I get disciplined if I don't stick to the rules. I am not "into" spanking. I decided on this course of action after a lot of very careful planning.

Well, I just did that test! And apparently I am of type http://keirsey.com/handler.aspx?s=keirsey&f=fourtemps&tab=5&c=mastermind. This is so incredibly accurate especially what it says about being open minded, result oriented, obsessed with careful planning, brainstorming and testing out new theories. This whole thing I am in at the moment is a massive big experiment that is going incredibly well so far!

It even got my career correct: http://www.humanmetrics.com/vocation/JCI.asp?EI=-11&SN=-25&TF=38&JP=56

Computer programmer!

What a fascinating post!

Fascinating stuff

Really enjoyed this post. We referenced it across at our blog (www.spankingwriters.com/blog) a couple of days ago, and have had some fascinating replies. You've certainly triggered an interesting debate her, with some fascinating findings!

Best wishes
